Rabi-Ul-Awwal, the most significant month in the Islamic calender has arrived and the lovers are rejoicing. This blessed month witnessed the birth of the best and most beloved creation of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It can be said without doubt that if it wasn't for our beloved Prophet, who is the mercy upon mankind, we wouldn't have been created.

Milad Un Nabi is about rejuvenating our souls, showing gratitude and appreciation by thanking Allah Almighty for the Bounteous Gift that He has Bestowed on the worlds, our Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

"And publicise well the favours of your Lord."
(The Holy Qur'an, Surah Ad-Dhuha, verse 11).

We can say with pleasure that the first major event held at Jamia Sufiya Leicester, after the grand opening was indeed Milad Un Nabi where we celebrated, appreciated and publicised the greatest Gift that Allah has blessed the worlds with. Alhamdulillah, the gathering grew in numbers and the event was successful with the blessings of Hazrat Makhdoom Ashraf Jahangir Semnani (ra).

The building was lit up and the atmosphere comforting as the event started. We heard heart felt speeches from Hazrat Syed Muhammad Husaini Ashraf, Maulana Abdoel Rashied Ashrafi, Hazrat Sufi Muneer Naqshbandi and Maulana Haroon Karamat. Many people of different cultures and ages attended this event and were brought together as one family to celebrate this auspicious month and to express their love for Allah and His Beloved. Certainly, the love of our Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was felt.

The naat programme captivated the lovers of all ages as they eagerly awaited the Ziyaarah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) holy hair. The celebrations continued as the event progressed into the evening and finished with a meal (langar).

Although this event ended at Jamia Sufiya, the celebrations continue within our hearts through-out the year and by the will of Allah, it will continue on forever.
